No.1 Fragilité: Allegretto
by Alexander Scriabin (1872–1915)
Alexander Skryabin (1872-1915)
No.1 Fragilité: Allegretto
The first of the uniformly beautiful Four Pieces Op.51, Fragilité bears a title which could be applied to harmonies (more ninths, elevenths and thirteenths) which seem to knock tiny flakes off its E flat major tonality and to conflicts between the triplets in the left hand and the duplets in the right, evenly balanced in melodic interest, which gently split the texture apart.
